Here is her inspiring journey in her words!
1. Please Describe Sharon Pape:
Answer: I believe I was born to be a writer. In the first grade, as soon as I learned how to put words together to form a sentence, I felt compelled to write my first story. I wrote a novel in middle school but wasn’t published until I was an adult.
2. Please Describe your skills:
Answer: My first three books were paranormal and published before the age of the internet. Back then the only way to have a book published (excluding vanity presses) was to find a literary agent who believed in your work, knew the publishing business, and marketed it to the right publisher.
After the birth of the internet, a lot changed in the publishing business, but I’ve stuck with legacy publishing. My next nine books have been cozy mysteries with a twist of the paranormal and a splash of humour, all published by traditional publishing houses.
3. What inspired you to pursue your passion?
Answer: The need to write was always within me. The stories keep piling up in my head, demanding to be written.
4. What are the difficulties you faced and how did you overcome?
Answer: Being a writer means learning to live with rejection and not letting it stop you. You have to believe in yourself, or no one else will. Since the advent of the internet and self-publishing, there’s a new challenge – getting noticed in an overcrowded field.
5. Your message to the audience/beginners?
Answer: You only fail when you give up.
