Brittany ~Writer of the Week~

Brittany is a writer and the author. She writes with the pen name Birdy Rivers and that’s what you will find her books under.

Let’s hear her journey in her words!

1. Please Describe Brittany:

Answer: I’m creative. I love writing and reading. I’m always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it. I went to school to be a Medical Assistant and had a career as an MA for five years before I stopped to write full time. I love exploring new places because you never know what you might find. I’m outgoing and adventurous. Overall I’m a simple person who enjoys family, friends, and life.

2. Please Describe your skills:

Answer: Author and I’m going to start editing soon.

3. What inspired to pursue your passion?

Answer: Writing started off as therapeutic for me, but I then combine my love writing with my creativity, and love of stories. I wrote my first book when I was 18 and ever since then I’ve been writing books, songs, short stories, and scripts. I love writing and I’m making a career out of it.

4.  What are the difficulties you faced and how did you overcome?

Answer: I’ve had to overcome my mental illness of depression, anxiety, and PTSD. I overcame these with  help from professionals and a great support system. My writing has been a great tool in helping me deal with my mental illnesses and challenges in my life in a health way.

5. Your message to the audience/beginners?

Answer: Never give up. There are going to be days where it’s tough, you might even think you aren’t good enough, but you are. Keep doing what you love, follow dreams, and listen to your heart and no one else.
